1. Who we are

This website is operated by 0824 Holding LLC ("we", "us"). Does My Car Qualify? is an independent information service about the federal car loan interest deduction. We are not the Internal Revenue Service and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for any government agency.

2. Information only - not tax, legal or financial advice

Everything on this site is general information and an estimate. It is not tax, legal, accounting or financial advice, and it is not a substitute for the advice of a qualified professional who knows your circumstances. Reading this site does not create any professional relationship. You are responsible for what you put on your tax return.

3. The answer is an estimate

Our VIN checker and calculator use public data (NHTSA's vPIC decoder and Part 583 reports) and the rules in IRC §163(h)(4) and the final regulations at 26 CFR §1.163-16. A VIN cannot tell us whether your vehicle is new to you, whether you bought rather than leased, how you use it, or what your loan documents say - so every result is expressed as "likely" and is accompanied by a user checklist. Verify anything material against the primary sources, the IRS instructions and, where relevant, a tax professional.

4. Third-party data and links

Vehicle data comes from NHTSA. Tax sources come from Congress, the Federal Register and the IRS. Third-party sites we link to are outside our control and we are not responsible for their content, availability or practices.

5. No warranty

The site and everything on it is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any data source will remain available.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any lost profits, lost tax benefits, penalties, interest or costs arising from your use of, or reliance on, this site - even if we have been advised of the possibility. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability is limited to one hundred US dollars (US$100).

7. Acceptable use

• Do not scrape, overload or attempt to disrupt the site, or use it in a way that breaks the law.
• Do not misrepresent our results as official IRS or government determinations.
• Do not copy substantial parts of the site for a competing service without written permission.

8. Intellectual property

The site's text, design, logo and code are ours or our licensors'. Government works we quote - statutes, regulations, IRS forms, NHTSA data - are not ours and remain in the public domain. The fonts (Archivo and Inter) are used under the SIL Open Font License.

9. Advertising and referrals

We may display advertising and may include disclosed referral links (labelled "Ad / Referral") to refinance or insurance partners. Advertising and referrals never change a verdict or the order of model pages.

Disclosure: We may earn a commission from some links; this does not affect our results.

10. Changes

We may update these terms; the "last updated" date will change. Continuing to use the site accepts the update.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and the courts of that state have exclusive jurisdiction.
